How do they work?

Earth brand footwear features the original Negative Heel Technology™ developed in the 1950's by Danish Yoga instructor Anne Kalso®.

This unique construction, which holds the heel lower than the toes, (a position known as dorsiflexion) mirrors the effects of walking barefoot in the sand.

The Negative Heel encourages Natural Posture which means you will notice your :

  • Spine and pelvis align as centre of gravity is corrected

Earth's lowered heel encourages a natural walking action and the pressure flow through the foot is naturally distributed which helps to ward off painful movement or the development of specific foot and back problems. Earth's purpose designed shock absorber, Gelron 2000, dissipates shock waves and minimizes its potential damage to the body.?

1 .Heel makes contact with the ground. Earth's Gelron 2000 absorbs shock waves created by ground reaction forces thus protecting the joints and lumbar spine.

2. Weight shifts to the outside of the foot as the ankle places the foot flat on the ground. Earth's pronounced foot bed prevents the foot from pronating abnormally and holds the feet securely in place.

3. Body weight is distributed evenly at the metatarsal area of the foot as the entire body weight is supported on just leg only. Layers of EVA and Gelron 2000 permit the foot to bend without restriction and damage.

4. Weight moves forward as the toes spread, preparing the foot to propel the body forward shifting the weight on to the other foot. Earth's naturally wide toe box and cushioned mid sole design permit unrestricted movement.
